Description:
We will start our journey by picking you up from your hotel and driving you to Cruzpata, a little community in the heart of the Andes. Once there, we will practice with the ATVs, and after a couple of rounds in our practice trail, we are ready to go!
We will round the majestic Huaypo Lake, considered one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Cusco, towards the Andean Community of “Ocutuan”, located at 3,762 meters above sea level at the banks of Piuray Lake.
A warm welcome awaits us in the community, where we will also see this ancient process of textile dying with plants and insects.
There we get the chance to purchase handmade and one-of-a-kind souvenirs to support this special community.
After this memorable experience, we enter the fields with a local farmer to learn about their antique agriculture techniques. We will see and use their tools and harvest different kinds of products depending on the season. Here we will make a “Pago a la Tierra” (tribute to the earth) to experience the bond and closeness these ancient communities maintain with the land and their ancestors.
A local family will open their house and hearts to invite us to a homemade dish made with ingredients from the orchard. All fresh, all organic!
Finally, a warm goodbye traditional dance and music will be performed by our hosts.
The adventure continues in our ATVs as we head back to the base in Cruzpata and back to Cusco passing the white “Apus” (snow peak mountains) and fields of the products we have a special bond from now on.
