Kuélap is the most important archaeological site in the northern Andes of Peru. It forms an architectural complex made of stone, characterized by its impressive size, with a large artificial platform situated on the summit of Cerro Barreta (3000 meters above sea level). The platform extends for almost 600 meters, surrounded by a wall that reaches a height of 19 meters at some points.

We will reach Kuélap via cable car (teleférico), and once we arrive, we will begin a guided tour of the archaeological site.

Later, we will descend to the Utcubamba River to visit the archaeological site of Macro, featuring round constructions decorated with friezes that display the same patterns as those inside Kuélap.
