Day 1 : Cusco – Patabamba
Today, we will head to Tambomachay, where we will begin a gradual ascent of 4 hours and 30 minutes to the Queullacocha Pass. Once at the summit, we will have lunch while enjoying a beautiful panoramic view.
After recharging our energy, we will embark on another 4 hours of hiking through pampas and lakes until we reach the community of Patabamba. Our friend Rosalio and his family will have prepared a “pachamanca” for your arrival. We will spend the night at their house.
Day 2 : Patabamba - Huchuy Qosqo
Today, we will hike to the balcony of the Sacred Valley from where you will appreciate the towns of Pisac, Calca, and Lamay, as well as the peaks of Pitusiray, Sawasiray, and Veronica.
We will make the ascent to the Pucamarka Pass, which we will reach around noon. After a short break, we will cross the Leon Punku Canyon, taking a section of the ancient Inca Trail that will lead you to the Huchuy Qosqo ruins.
We will explore the “Little Cusco” before arriving at Natividad’s house where we will spend the second night.
Day 3 : Huchuy Qosqo - Chinchero
The last day of effort includes the Tauca Pass, which reaches an elevation of 4435 meters above sea level.
It will take us about 4 hours to reach the highest point of our adventure. At the summit, you can enjoy a unique view of the mountain range.
We will take a long break before descending for 3 hours to the Piuray Lagoon and the town of Tauca, and then make our way back to Cusco.
