Description

I will pick you up from your Hotel and take a van to Cruzpata, a little comunity in the heart of the Andes. There we will practice with the ATV´s to make sure we are good to go!

We will round the Huaypo lake, considered one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in Cusco towards the Andean Comunity of “Ocutuan”, located at 3,762 meters above sea level at Piuray lake.

A warm welcome awaits us in the comunity where we will also see this ancient process of textile dying with plants and insects.

There we get the chance to purchase hand made and one of a kind souvenirs to support this special comunity.

After this memorable experience we enter the fields with a local farmer to learn about their antique aguiculture techniques. We will see and use their tools and actually harvest different kinds of products depending on the season. Here we will make a “pago a la tierra” (tribute to the earth) to experience the bond and closeness this ancient communities mantain with the land and their ancestors.

A nice family will open their house and hearts to invite us a home made dish made with the ingredients from the orchard. All fresh, all organic!

Finally, a warm good bye traditional dance and music will be performed by our hosts.

The adventure continues in our ATV´s as we head back to the base in Cruzpata and back to Cusco passing the white “Apus” (snow peak mountains) and fields of the products we have a special bond from no own.
